AVILA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

At Avila College of Education, we define “teaching is a mission and not a profession”. So we are creating teachers with a missionary zeal. Avila College of Education offers B.Ed. & M.Ed. courses in different disciplines. Only great teachers can mold great citizens. As the name indicates, Avila College of education focuses on the training of teachers. In fact, the concept of the college was the long cherished vision of Rt. Rev. Dr.. Joseph Kureethara, late Bishop of Latin Catholic Diocese of Cochin and the founder patron of the college. In 1995 the college was founded at Edacochin, in Aquinas Campus. The college was named after St.Teresa of Avila, the Patron Saint of this institute.



ASSISI INSTITUTE OF ELEMENTARY TEACHER EDUCATION

Assisi Institute of Elementary Teacher training course was established in the Aquinas Grounds as per the order F.KL/ELE/N/145/SRO/NCTE/2004-2005/1192,dt.09-03-2005.The Government of Kerala sanctioned this new T.T.I. here in Edacochin,as per GO(MS) No.104/2005/G.Edn.dt. 01.04.2005.The formal inauguration of the course for the academic year 2005 was conducted on the 23rd of August 2005.
